Productivity...ism...ness. I've reached a new level, so I need a longer word for it.

So you know how I said I would post once a week? Well, maybe I'll go to twice a week. I figure a lot of stuff happens in Johnsonland, and one week worth of stuff is a super extra long blog post, with a bunch of pictures. Plus I pretty much have the memory of a goldfish, and if I wait until the end of the week, things will be lost forever in my fishbowl of a brain (complete with colored gravel and pirate booty!).
So when I left you on Friday it was late, and carpet was being installed the next day. Well, carpet dude who was supposed to be afternoon carpet dude turned out to be early morning carpet dude. So then he turned into, "Hi, nice to meet you lady in her PJ's with screaming infants and half naked toddler" carpet dude. Luckily for me, I can totally pull off the disheveled bedhead look (in my alternate reality where I'm just awesome all the time). He looked a little bit scared, and I think that contributed to the fact that he finished up the job in an hour flat, loaded up his tools, and sped away in his carpet van. Here is our new bedroom carpet:

"ooohhhhh!"

"Ahhhh!"

We had some issues with the wall painting, mainly the fact that we were a bit short on the paint (totally Eddies fault, but I've forgiven him because he was so awesome this week. I'm such a giving wife, everyone may now love me). But one more coat will solve that issue. That's getting done this upcoming weekend. Plus, we had a misguided moment (read: slightly tipsy from paint fumes), and painted around the edges of one of the windows one coat of red paint. Still not so sure why we thought that was a great idea, but we were tired, and the Hubs and I no longer function well in a quiet environment when we're given time to think. We need chaos and someone screaming to make a proper decision.
After the carpet went in, we put in the new bedroom set. We haven't had one of those in a while because between kids and dogs, it's just like an expensive chew toy/jungle gym. But now we can secure the door from the top and prevent children from letting dogs and themselves in- so we're allowed to have kind of nice things again. Go us! Here are the pictures of the new bedroom set. Ignore the red window...

"Ohhh!"

"Ahhhh!"

Also ignore the sheets/bedding and lack of wall art. The bedding set is ordered and not in yet, and the wall art is currently being crafted/ searched for. Well, it will be crafted after I finish my St. Pattys day mantle. I'm making felt shamrocks right now that I found on pintrest for a garland and other stuff and waiting on Eddie to cut me out some wooden letters. When it's finished I will be sure to post pictures, but I'll take a picture of the felt shamrocks to give you an idea. *Camera Flash*
Here it is:

Sorry for crappy picture quality.

These past few days the kids have had it out for me. So no good pictures of them yet this week, because I'm pretty sure they might melt the camera lens, or at least throw something at me and break it. Both the girls are walking everywhere now, and Caleb is already talking about Easter, and his birthday. He could care less about holidays where he doesn't get gifts. This year we're trying to change that by making all of them a bigger deal. Well, we really didn't do anything for Valentines day, but that was more an oversight then "Caleb, don't believe in hallmark holidays." So all of you Valentines lovers don't get all triple offended on me.
I'm pretty sure that about covers everything. Not having Facebook is annoying at times, but I'm getting a lot of stuff done! So even after Lent I may just stick with this. I don't want to fall back down the slippery slope of social media addiction. I'd have to "like" some rehab clinic and start playing "Funny Farmville", and they'd keep tabs on my imaginary friend requests, to make sure I'm not getting back in with the wrong crowd.
Oh, one more thing- I love comments. So be sure to comment and leave me some news of the outside world. Or email, oh- and I have skype now. I'm a little behind the times, but you know, better late then never. And for all you Catholics, what's this Fridays meatless meal for you? I'm thinking fish tacos with mango salsa...

40 days and 40 nights

This week started with the question every Catholic has to ask themselves once a year, "What the crap do I give up for Lent?" It has to be something you really really like, as I found out in 4th grade when I tried to give up homework and chores. Apparently straight F's and dirty dishes are not the path to salvation. So this year I racked my brain and thought of the one thing I could live without, but just barely. The answer was Facebook. *DUN DUN DUN*
Being a stay at home mom, Facebook is usually the only type of social interaction I have that isn't [always] on the topics of poop, Iron Man, and children demanding something. So it's going to be rough, but after Facebook gaining creeper points for posting all the things I do online on my news feed, it's a welcome break.
Then came the question of, "How do I still share pictures and updates, entertain the masses with the random Caleb-isms, while still avoiding eternal damnation?" And that my friends, brings us to the blog. I figure one weekly post on Fridays should do the trick. Plus, if you are a practicing Catholic, it's a distraction from the need to sink your teeth into a hunk of steak.
With that introduction over with- onward to the weekly update.
After returning home to South Carolina from my 5 day visit to the state of my birth, I discovered the lovely surprise that my husband had painted, re situated, and made new furniture for my excuse of a craft room. Now I have an actual space for all my creative needs! Go Eddie! ...And he also cleaned the floors and hung some new towel racks. Go Eddies x4! That, plus the fact that the weather was beautiful on Thursday allowed me to take the kids to the park down the street. I always enjoy Caleb more when he has an open area to run around in, and something other than my furniture to climb on and destroy. He made some new friends, and has a new obsession with acorns. Strange, but better than sticks I guess. Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure, beginning with the Maryland trip, and ending with some randoms from this week:

The posts will get better, I promise. But for now it's late, and I have new bedroom carpet being installed tomorrow. Goodnight everyone (or good morning!), and remember to check back next Friday for more life and times of the Johnson kiddos.
