Sick, sicky, and sickest

So first of all, everyone was sick this week. For Baylee and Emilee, this was the first big sickness since, you know, the NICU and Baylee having to be revived twice. For Caleb, it's been one of the first times since the daycare days. Eddie's job has him working around recruits non-stop now, so all the little nasties are bound to rub off on him at some point. Caleb has seasonal allergies, which I'm pretty sure everyone and their mother has here because of the crazy amounts of pollen. Seriously, my white Dodge Durango is currently a bright shade of yellow, thanks to the paint job of mother nature. I should probably wash it, but it would just be yellow again in 5 minutes.
With me being stuck inside I've been making things non-stop. So yes, I broke my lent thing and I went on facebook this week- I've been staying off the personal page except to log in, and I've just been going on my "business page". But still, it's breaking my "facebook fast". I started off having Mom post stuff for me, and Eddie do some stuff, but that was still kind of cheating. So I'll have to think of a way to make up for it. So far I haven't eaten meat on a Friday though, and that's an improvement since last year, where I totally forgot what day it was and ate like 3 bowls of beef stir fry, and I'm pretty sure I had a ham sandwich for lunch, and a sausage thing for breakfast... Yea. I went all John Wayne and had like 5 lbs of meat in my intestines.
Eddie has been making a pretty big deal over me breaking the facebook thing, and him staying off video games and being a good Catholic, even though I've been one for wayy longer. But I attribute a lot of that to the fact that the PS3 HDMI cord was broken until 2 days ago, and he really couldn't play them. So let's see how he does now that it's fixed.
Right after I went on facebook for the first time though, our router died on us, so I'm pretty sure that was God saying, "Hey, I see you. Sinner." Or it may have just been that the thing was super old, but I'm going to take it as divine intervention anyway.
Other than that, I'm just sitting here, losing my mind. No pictures of the kiddos this week because I'm pretty sure everyone has seen snot and crying children before. Plus they cry if I look at them and don't pick them up, and because there are 3 of them, at least 2 are crying non-stop. So I have a pretty big headache by this point. The good thing is Eddie had a down week, so he's been getting home pretty early everyday, so he can help with the snot and the holding and the crying. If it would have been a regular week I'm sure I would already be institutionalized by now.
Oh- we got new phone numbers- so if you would like them, please email me and I will gladly hand it over. Eddie is now officially a South Carolina resident, so we finally got the South Carolina numbers. I was pretty sick of having to tell people around here my area code 3 times, and them looking at me like I had 3 heads. It was a Yuma, AZ number that I got when I was in Hawaii... like 6+ years ago. So yea, email me at BrittanyDiegel@aol.com for the new one if you'd like it (and if I know you... because if I don't know you and you want my number that's a little creepy. Unless you really just want to be my friend. In that case I would like an essay on why you're cool, who you are, and how much effort that friendship would require. High maintenance friendships aren't really an option for me at this time.)
Ok, so kids are back to screaming. Aren't you lucky that you're just reading this and not listening to it. One of the many reasons I don't do the video blogs (or VLOGS.. which is a funny word). So Hopefully I'll have some pictures up this weekend if we get to finish up the rest of the veggie garden. Plus updated pictures of the pig named Beans. He's gotten to be a big'un. And if the kids feel better I'll be sure to get some of them too! I know they're the actual reason all of you read this thing, so don't fret- the magnificent Johnson 3 will make an appearance!

Love and all that.

Top of the Mornin'!

Hey Ya'll. Happy St. Patricks Day!!!!

So we worked pretty super hard last night, and we built us a trap. A leprechaun trap! (or as Caleb calls it, a Khan Trap) He was to excited to sleep last night, so I was up until about 12 shooing him back into his room. The "He's not going to come until you're asleep" trick doesn't work as well with leprechauns as it does with Santa, FYI.

So after a late night, we had a (sort of) early morning of Caleb running out to check on it. I just woke up hearing Caleb screaming, "FOOTPRINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

We didn't get him this year, but he did leave us some chocolate gold coins, lollipops, and skittles. So Caleb is pretty satisfied. Eddie on the other hand really wanted that gold, and is planning on chasing that little bugger down later today.

UPDATED PICTURES: (AS OF 5PM)

Green Waffles (They don't look great, but the kids loved them)

She kept flashing everyone

"Hey, give me the lolly Dad."

"Mmm. Pinecones."

So that should be all for the day. Hope everyone has a safe and lucky St. Pattys day!

Pink Circle of DOOM

So I'm planning on doing a post tomorrow for the St. Pattys celebrations, but since it is Friday, and official post day, I plan to entertain you with a short illustrated story of the non-fictional nature.

A week ago, a pink spray painted circle appeared at the end of our driveway.

It looks like this.

At first I was just like, "Hmm. I wonder where that came from?"

Then I looked up and down the street, and noticed that we were the only driveway that had one.

Well at first I felt pretty special, like, "Yea other driveways, mine is way cooler!"

But Then I started to really think about it. And I started to get a little worried. I've been watching "Supernatural", a pretty awesome TV show, and now I'm pretty sure demons and monsters are everywhere, and it takes all of me not to salt line my windows and doors before I go to bed. So I started thinking the pink circle was some type of way to mark my house for a future apocalyptic event. That pink circle was basically screaming, "Hey demon buddies, all you can eat buffet here!"It would make sense since the Jehovah's Witness people just dropped off a "What is the Apocalypse?" pamphlet...

So I made Eddie drive up and down the street looking for other certain death marks.

Long story short- He didn't find any. So now I was stuck with a mark of death at the foot of my driveway, and no way to stop the impending apocalypse. So I tried to scrub it.

That didn't work. So I had to come up with a brilliant plan.

So I got to work.

After I was done that pink circle looked like this:

Demons hate daisies. It's a fact. I googled it. So now my family is safe, demon free, and we have some lovely street art to gaze at on quiet summer days.

The Leprechauns have landed

So, after taking some time off from my initial St. Pattys day prep to finalize plans for Calebs birthday (and Easter), I finally took the time today to finish the mantle and wreath. I haven't had a chance to get out to the store, so I had to put together some stuff from my handy dandy craft room stock.
First up, we have the wreath- which I made from some cardboard we had saved, along with some super saver yarn that always seems to be handy. Plus some of my leftover ribbon from the St. Patricks day hair ribbons I made the girls.

Out of pocket expense was a whopping $0.

Now for the mantle. I found some of Calebs old wooden blocks in the attic this weekend, so that saved Eddie from having to cut me some wooden letters. I also had some construction paper laying around- so I made some paper roses. I got the tutorial here. The original is for storybook roses, but the construction paper worked fine and dandy, but the lighter book paper would probably be easier to hot glue and manipulate around the stem.

I broke the bank, spending a whole $0.

The awesome printable that I got here was put into a frame that I received as a gift from my wonderful Aunt Cheryl. Normally my little brothers picture resides there, but he took a temporary vacation to my fridge. Don't worry Gabe, I'll put you back.
Then I had some green and cream felt laying around, like I usually do, so I made a shamrock garland. I saw a picture of them somewhere, I'm still trying to find out where, so as soon as I can find it I'll link to it. I know it wasn't a tutorial though.

I was running out of ideas, but I figured I'd better put a pot of gold and a rainbow in there somewhere... So going with the stuff I had around, I got this:

I stole the pot of gold from a Leprechaun, so technically I MADE money.

The pot was an old terracotta pot I had in the garage. I painted it black, lined it with ribbon I had, and made the "buckle" out of card stock and gold paint. Same thing for the coins. I used my cricut to cut a few circles, and then I painted them gold with some paint I had. The "Tree" was on old stick outside, decorated with some shamrock buttons I had with embroidery thread.
The "Rainbow" is just different buttons, thread, pom poms, feathers, and pipe cleaners I had in the colors of the rainbow laying around. The good news is, that now all my "findings" are organized by color. Hooray for St. Patricks day!The back mirror I just painted "Top O the Mornin" in a paint pen.
So that's pretty much what I did all day. Besides you know, running after children. I'll probably tweak it a few times before the 17th, because I'm still randomly staring at it, so that means it's not done, or something is off.

Other then that, we've all been feeling like poo. Oh, and we finally cut Baylees bangs.

We straightened them out after the picture, don't worry.

That's all for now. Eddie got a tooth drilled today, so his face is all puffy and numb still. I really don't know why I'm posting and not sitting next to him poking at it... It's one of my favorite hobbies. :)
