After Tuesday we finally started to get some stuff done. Sugar cookies were made. Mom's Top Secret recipe. Of course it must be really super top secret, because Ma skipped 2 important steps while giving me it... so mine turned out a little bit different than hers. She decided to be a dear after that and give me the full set of instructions. I probably shouldn't have told you I have it now though, because I'll have to buy a safe to keep it in...
Caleb "helped" make the cookies. I gave him his own little ball of dough and he sat there making snakes, robots, and after about an hour decided it was time to use cookie cutters. I asked if he wanted to help, and he screamed "YES! But hold on just a minute!" and ran out of the room. When he came back he was wearing his chef hat and apron he got for Christmas. Oh yes, he is my son.
After that I remembered that his birthday is coming up... with Easter the day before that. So I had to think quick and come up with a birthday party theme. It's a super small party this year, so I figured since I had already made some Dr.Seuss decorations, might as well reuse them. So I whipped up some invitations pretty quick, considering Eddie lost my Cricut cord and it currently has no electrical power...
Eddie finally decided to get off of his behind and give them out today (Thursday). So after the invitations were thrown together, I started the planning. Thank goodness for Pinterest. Easy ideas, all in one place. It has made my party planning about 99% easier. I have the outfits for the kids planned, I ordered the tulle for the girls tutus and got those done last night and today.
I also finished part of the party favors (for the girls). Suessical hair bows.
Still waiting on some things to finish up the rest, and Calebs outfit. But I was on a hair bow kick and since I had the stuff out decided to make some more.
I made a few of the heart ribbon slide ones, trying to get down the best way to construct them. I had about 5 that turned out pretty good. I have a bunch of them though, so I have to figure out some different ways to use them so they aren't just sitting here taking up valuable craft room space.
So today was a really nice day outside, and I finally was able to get the kids out. Good thing too, because I'm pretty sure my furniture and walls couldn't take much more of the pent-up Caleb treatment. Baylee is turning into a little destructor herself. After 30 minutes in the playroom today, the kitchen set was flipped over, everything was rearranged, and she was climbing over the picnic table.
When I put the girls outside, and think, "Oh sure, they'll come up with something to do", usually they just try to eat dirt and climb back up the stairs. So after 5 minutes of blond moment where I forgot that they're mobile, and moving them off the dirt just doesn't work anymore, I broke out the bounce balls, tractor, and the girls little princess car things.
I know it is Thursday, and not Friday, (I am able to read a calender. It's those damned clocks I have an issue with) but I have a million and 1+2 things to do tomorrow, so I figured I'd get it done tonight. For once in my life, I'm early. Go me. Oh yea. I'm awesome. Feel free to comment and leave me some love. I hear some people are having a hard time commenting- I have no idea why, my settings are set to "everyone may comment". So I'll get right to trying to figure that hot mess out. In the meantime I'm setting the settings to members or whatever, so feel free to follow the blog, or whatever this Blogger thing makes you do. (BaHaHa. Follow me minions, FOLLOW!!!)
Hopefully I'll get out another post this weekend of some fun things. If not, please check on me and make sure my children haven't locked me somewhere...
